Stroll qualifying goes from bad to worse with FIA investigation

The Aston Martin driver finished only 14th fastest whilst teammate Alonso secured a front-row spot.

Lance Stroll's Monaco Grand Prix qualifying could go from bad to worse after being summoned to the FIA race stewards. The Aston Martin driver missed the weighbridge midway though Q2 and arrived at his pit box, with his mechanics fixing cooling fans to the AMR23 as well as sitting up Stroll on the trolly wheels before pushing the Canadian back down the pit lane. But the stewards have taken issue with Stroll for failing to stop at the weighbridge for the random check, with both driver and team summoned to explain themselves. Should it be deemed the team broke regulations and worked on the car before Stroll was returned to the weighbridge, he could be stricken from qualifying, leaving his hopes for points in the race in tatters.
