Lance Stroll has highlighted his father's "heart and passion" for the Aston Martin project, which he has funded a significant amount of money into.

Since becoming Aston Martin's owner, Lawrence Stroll has stressed that his goal is to make the Silverstone-based outfit the best in F1 and claim world titles.

So far, that is yet to happen, with the British team enduring a difficult campaign.

Despite the tough season, the owner's son has stressed that the team is being given everything it needs to achieve what the owner has set out.

"Yeah, he's got the vision and the passion," Stroll told select media including RacingNews365

"He wants to be up at the front, and that's what he's given everyone at Silverstone, an opportunity to do that and the tools to do that.

"Lawrence, he's putting his heart and passion and ambition into the project. I mean, giving everyone at Silverstone all the tools to bring something special to the race track."

2026 a 'big opportunity'

Aston Martin's best chance of winning races and fighting for the title will come in 2026, when the new power unit regulations are introduced and its partnership with Honda begins.

Having Honda as a power unit partner and becoming a factory team is significant for Aston Martin to fight at the sharp end of the grid.

In the current regulations, Honda has also produced a strong and competitive engine, which bodes well for Aston Martin looking forward.

Stroll is excited about the upcoming regulations change, and views it as a chance for the team to make strides in the right direction.

"The wind tunnel will be ready in a few months," said Stroll. "2026 is a big opportunity for all the teams, a completely new set of regulations.

"I think it's an exciting opportunity, a regulation change is always an exciting opportunity for teams to try and come up with something special."
