Lance Stroll crashed for the second time in a matter of hours to force an aborted start of the São Paulo Grand Prix.
It had already been a dramatic day, with five crashes and red flags during qualifying, including Stroll, who spun off at the Senna S at the end of Q2.
That heavily compromised Red Bull duo Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, who failed to make it out of Q2 given the session was red-flagged with only seconds remaining.
With Aston Martin's mechanics forced into undertaking considerable repairs - with team-mate Fernando Alonso also crashing in qualifying - Stroll then blotted his copybook again.
On the formation lap to the grid, and with the Interlagos circuit still wet, Stroll hit the edge of the track and spun off, initially clipping his front wing into a barrier.
But in his attempt to return to the track, Stroll then beached his car in the gravel.
It sparked an aborted start with marshals forced to rescue a red-faced Stroll and his car from his predicament.
