Sebastian Montoya, son of former F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya, will be joining the Formula 3 grid with Hitech Grand Prix this year.
The Colombian recently signed to Red Bull's Junior Programme, having already made two appearances in F3 last year at the Zandvoort weekend and finishing both races in eighth.
Montoya has experience with the team, completing mileage with Hitech in Jerez during the post-season test last year.
He believes his move to race in the championship full-time with the team provides a great opportunity to fight at the top end of the grid.
Montoya said: “We will all work together to have a great year and fight at the front consistently. I just want to say thank you to my family and everyone else involved. Let’s bring on the season and give it everything.”
The F3 season kicks off at the first F1 race in Bahrain at the beginning of March. Prior to that Montoya will be competing in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship between January and February.
