With Mercedes' teenage sensation Andrea Kimi Antonelli not being old enough to compete in F1 until the race day of the Dutch Grand Prix later this year, should Williams consider Mercedes' current reserve driver to replace Logan Sargeant?
The big talking point recently has been how soon Antonelli could replace Sargeant, who has struggled in the opening rounds of his second F1 campaign.
However, the FIA has a strict rule on the minimum age of an F1 driver being 18. Because of this, Antonelli will have to wait before making his debut.
Whilst this could buy Sargeant some time, Williams could look at Mercedes reserve driver Frederik Vesti if an immediate replacement is wanted.
Vesti finished as runner-up in F2 in 2023 but is only competing in the European Le Mans Series this year, alongside his Mercedes reserve duties. He does have some F1 experience, having taken part in FP1 in Mexico and Abu Dhabi last season.
The Danish driver is very quick and is a seven-time F2 race winner, an impressive record given he only spent two seasons in the junior category.
Have your say in the poll below if you think Vesti should be considered by Williams.
