With Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon both being out-of-contract at the conclusion of 2024, Alpine currently has two vacant seats for next season.

One driver who has been waiting patiently behind-the-scenes is reserve driver Jack Doohan, who recently spoke exclusively to RacingNews365 during a test at Zandvoort

Doohan finished third in F2 last year but has not taken on a racing programme this season, in order to fully focus on his role as Alpine's reserve.

Following Ocon's collision with Gasly on the opening lap of last weekend's Monaco Grand Prix, speculation has even circulated that Doohan could replace Ocon at the Canadian Grand Prix next weekend.

Whether this happens or not, Doohan's name is being linked to an Alpine F1 seat more than ever before, but should the Enstone-based team promote the Australian rather than sign a driver from elsewhere?

Have your say in the poll below and find the video interview with Doohan below that!
