Seidl: Drivers more confident after overnight changes

McLaren Racing Director Andreas Seidl has said both Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris are happier with the MCL35M after overnight tweaks.

McLaren's Andreas Seidl has said that both of his drivers, Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris, are far more satisfied with their car's handling than on Friday. This was borne out in Saturday's morning practice session, with Lando Norris finishing in second place ahead of Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton and only bested by Red Bull's Max Verstappen. "We have seen that last year here that we were struggling a bit on this track." "It seems like the track layout here with the cold temperatures, our car doesn't like it that much. "But what we have seen now in practice three, we're very happy. It looks like the changes the team has done overnight together with the drivers, they're working. "You could see that they had a lot more confidence compared to yesterday, throwing the car into the corners. So I would say so, so far so good, but it's only free practice three, we have to see now how it goes in quali." With Daniel Ricciardo only ending up 13th in third practice, Seidl believes the Australian will be more comfortable once qualifying begins. "I would say it's pretty normal Daniel is still feeling it up. Still getting used to the car. "Lando, obviously in his third year, has a lot more experience already with this car, you could see today, he had the confidence to do this lap. But, I think as we have seen in Bahrain, Daniel was fully up to the pace as well so no concern on that side."
