Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has cooled suggestions Sebastian Vettel could take over his role within the Milton Keynes-based squad in the near future.
Earlier this year, Vettel confirmed he was in talks with Marko over potentially succeeding the Austrian at the team.
Vettel enjoyed a bulk of his F1 success with Red Bull, winning his four titles with it between 2010 and 2013.
The 38-year-old retired from F1 at the end of the 2022 campaign and has made very few paddock appearances ever since.
Marko has detailed talks have calmed as the demanding nature of the role does not suit Vettel.
“The whole thing didn't go any further because we had more than enough to do with the team restructuring at Red Bull Racing,” Marko told F1 Insider.
“And it's a full-time job, you can't just do it for a few races.
“I don't think the requirements profile from our side is suitable for him.”
Marko, 82, has worked with Red Bull since the team's inception and has been responsible for bringing talents such as Vettel and Max Verstappen to the squad.
Significant change has already occurred within the Red Bull team recently, with long-time team principal Christian Horner dismissed from his position.
Assessing his own future, Marko was tight-lipped over his role beyond the end of next season.
“My contract runs until the end of 2026,” Marko said. “Then we'll see.”
