Mercedes reserve Mick Schumacher is set to make his Formula 1 test debut for Alpine.
Schumacher, who last raced in F1 in 2022, currently holds a spot in Alpine's Hypercar line-up in the World Endurance Championship.
Alpine's F1 division is seeking a replacement for Esteban Ocon, who will leave the team at the end of the current campaign.
Several names have been touted to join the squad, with Carlos Sainz now also believed to be a contender.
Another person on Alpine's list of potential drivers is Schumacher, with team principal Bruno Famin confirming last month that the German driver is an option.

Schumacher's F1 test
Schumacher will have the chance to jump back behind F1 machinery, taking part in a test on July 3 at the Circuit Paul Ricard.
Schumacher will drive the A522 car that competed in the 2022 campaign which lifted Alpine to fourth place in the Constructors' championship.
The 2020 Formula 2 champion will not be the only driver in attendance on the day, however.
Jack Doohan, who is part of Alpine's F1 academy, will also be present at the circuit to clock some mileage behind the wheel.
Doohan has already taken part in a free practice session with Alpine this year and has asserted he is ready to make his debut should the team require his services.
