Schumacher furious at Mazepin: Does he want to kill us or something?

Haas' pair of rookie drivers almost came together on the run to the finish line as Mazepin's battery depleted.

Mick Schumacher crossed the finish line at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix with an axe to grind with his teammate Nikita Mazepin after the pair nearly collided on the run down the home straight on the final lap. Schumacher was left frustrated after on the run to the finish line, with the young German catching his teammate who had a dead battery, they almost came together. The difference in speed between the cars was large, but at the last moment Mazepin took defensive action, just as his teammate had made a move alongside, almost sandwiching Schumacher between the car and wall at over 300 km/h. Mazepin moved back at the last minute, but not before his teammate had to step on the brakes. The German eventually took 13th in the race by 0.07 seconds, raising his hand in frustration as he crossed the finish line at his teammate. With the adrenaline coursing through his body, Schumacher didn't hold back his feelings. "Is he trying to kill us or something?" he yelled. Afterwards, team principal Guenther Steiner said that the issue had been discussed and resolved behind the scenes immediately. "There was a situation on the straight, but it's all resolved now and the skies have cleared. There was a misunderstanding, but it's all fine now and we're moving on," he said.
