It has been announced by IDEC Sport Racing that former Williams F1 driver Logan Sargeant has withdrawn from competing for the team this year.

Sargeant is yet to return to racing since being axed by Williams after last season's Dutch Grand Prix, which featured a heavy crash for the American driver in third practice.

He was set to race in the European Le Mans Series with IDEC this year in the LMP2 class, as part of the #18 Oreca 07 lineup.

The championship shared IDEC and Sargeant's news on X (formerly known as Twitter), with its post having read: "IDEC Sport Racing has announced that Logan Sargeant has decided to withdraw and will not be part of the No. 18 Oreca 07 lineup for the 2025 #ELMS season.

"We fully respect the decision of the American driver and wish him the best of luck in his next adventure. See you soon, Logan!"
