Logan Sargeant has crashed out of Dutch Grand Prix qualifying having made it through to Q3 for the first time in his career. The Williams driver narrowly made it through to the top 10 shootout for the first time in his rookie season in the wet conditions at Zandvoort. Williams, like most of the field opted to go out on the slick Soft tyre for the final segment, with Sargeant posting a time of 1:16.748 on his first attempt to slot in second behind teammate Alex Albon. But seconds after completing the lap, Sargeant crashed heavily at Turn 2 after hitting a damp spot, with the front of the FW45 sustaining heavy damage in the impact with the barriers. Q3 was suspended with 8:13 left on the clock, as the Williams was recovered and Sargeant climbed unaided from the car.
