Sainz summoned by stewards following FP3 crash

The Ferrari driver will need to see the stewards for allegedly impeding Alex Albon during FP3.

Carlos Sainz will see the stewards before qualifying after allegedly impeding Alex Albon during FP3. The Ferrari driver ended his session early after crashing midway through while attempting to set a lap in the tricky wet conditions on Intermediate tyres. Albon was also summoned relating to the offence, after being heard complaining over team radio when Sainz slowed at the Turn 13 chicane when starting a lap causing him to take avoiding action. "As always, just dangerous from the Ferrari, all the time. He just stopped it in the middle of the chicane," he told his engineer. The stewards statement read: "Alleged breach of Article 37.5 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations - Car 55 unnecessarily impeding Car 23 in turn 13 at 12:52."
