Carlos Sainz will take part in the Ryder Cup All-Star Match later this month, teeing off alongside a list of celebrities. Sainz, who is an avid golfer, will take part in the event on Wednesday, September 27 - the week after the Japanese Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver will be joined by 23-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic as well as ex-footballers Gareth Bale and Andriy Shevchenko. A break in tradition from the usual format of the match, there will not be a competition between teams made up from Europe and the USA - instead, there will be a blend of nationalities playing for teams captained by iconic Ryder Cup figures Colin Montgomerie and Corey Pavin. Other celebrities taking part in the event will be Hollywood star Kathryn Newton, sportscaster and Super Bowl XLVI winner Victor Cruz, Italian professional surfer Leonardo Fioravanti, and Garrett Hilbert from the sports and comedy group Dude Perfect. Both teams will also be two leading golfers with a disability- Kipp Popert from England and Tommaso Perrino from Italy. Sainz will play for Team Pavin, and work together with Shevchenko, Newton, Cruz and Perrino.
