Carlos Sainz has labelled Williams' pre-season build-up as “night and day” compared to its preparations 12 months ago.
Sainz will make his grand prix debut for Williams in Australia next month, joining Alex Albon following his departure from Ferrari.
Last year, Williams was hit with significant concerns with its car as the season edged closer.
The team was late to launch the FW46 challenger and was losing significant lap time due to being overweight in the opening rounds.
However, Williams launched its new car for the 2025 season on Friday and conducted a shakedown at the Silverstone Circuit ahead of pre-season testing in Bahrain.
Although he did not experience the 2024 situation first-hand, Sainz's peers have relayed that the current environment at Williams greatly differs from the one 12 months ago.
“According to Alex [Albon] and James [Vowles], it’s night and day,” Sainz told media including RacingNews365.
“That’s why I wanted to make an emphasis on today.
“Do you think Williams in 2024 would have been able to put [together] a day like today and be confident enough to invite you [media] and all of our big partners that we've recently announced to join us here?
“I don't think so. And the fact that we are two weeks early [before] the test and all here with the car running, we're acting like it's normal.
“That’s good progress.”
Williams ended last year's F1 campaign ninth in the standings with 17 points to its name.
