Sainz crashes and causes red flag in wet Canada FP3

The Spaniard caused significant damage to the front of his car after crashing at the first corner during a wet FP3.

Carlos Sainz crashed and caused significant damage to his SF-23 during third practice for the Canadian Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver approached Turn 1 on a fast lap and appeared to get a wheel on the white line, which tipped his car into a spin a high speed. The car continued into the runoff and hit the TecPro barrier, damaging his front wing and the left rear tyre. At the time of the crash the Spaniard is second fastest and just 0.285s off the best time by Max Verstappen, in conditions that see drivers using the Intermediate tyre.
