Mercedes driver George Russell has shared images after he 'crashed' a Mercedes road car into a snow drift in Sweden.
The three-time grand prix winner took to social media to joke that he "couldn't wait until next month to get behind the wheel again" after sharing that he had hit the snow bank whilst driving on frozen lakes in a V8 bi-turbo Mercedes machine.
Fortunately, Russell was unharmed in the incident.
The British driver will be back behind the wheel of the new Mercedes W16 F1 car in February with pre-season testing set to commence in Bahrain between February 26th-28th, although Mercedes will likely use a permitted filming day as a shakedown once the car is unveiled.
Russell is going into his fourth season at Mercedes, and first as team leader following the departure of Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari, and will be partnered by Italian rookie, 18-year-old Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
