Ferrari F1 junior driver Dino Beganovic will make his Formula E debut in the upcoming Berlin rookie test after being handed a drive by Mahindra.
Beganovic will partner fellow Formula 2 driver Kush Maini in the one-day test at the Berlin Tempelhof Airport Circuit on July 14.
It will be his first experience of FE machinery, with the 21-year-old having already driven for Ferrari in F1 first practice ahead of races in Bahrain and Austria this year.
He is viewed as a rising star, having already claimed a pole position and two podiums this season in F2 for Hitech TGR – his first full season in the category after making four appearances last year.
"I’m looking forward to the opportunity to drive for Mahindra Racing at the Berlin Rookie Test, and to try a Formula E car for the first time," said Beganovic.
"It’s a great opportunity to get experience and also contribute to the team’s development. I’ve been impressed with everything I’ve seen so far, it’s obvious why this is one of the front-running teams in the championship."
Beganovic is one of the latest active F2 drivers to be handed a seat for the rookie test, with Maini, Gabriele Mini, Alex Dunne and Jak Crawford also set to appear.
According to Mahindra team boss Fred Bertrand, Beganovic was quickly a "front-runner" to be handed the chance.
"When analysing our options for the Rookie Test in Berlin, Dino quickly emerged as a front-runner for one of the seats," said Bertrand.
"It’s a great opportunity for him to sample what Formula E is all about, and we’re all very excited to work together with him to make the most of it."
