Daniel Ricciardo will get to drive one of Dale Earnhardt's famous NASCAR race cars once he scores his first podium for McLaren. The NASCAR drivers' 1984 Wrangler Chevrolet is part of McLaren CEO Zak Brown's treasured private car collection. Earnhardt was Ricciardo's boyhood hero and is the main reason he chooses to race with the number three in Formula 1. Ricciardo has visited NASCAR races in the past and has hinted at possibly competing in the series one day. The Australian signed for McLaren ahead of the 2021 season, where he has already seemingly struck up a good relationship with the team's CEO. Ricciardo previously made a bet with former Renault boss Cyril Abieboul, which involved the Frenchman having to get a tattoo if the driver stood atop of the podium for the team. In the video below, first posted to McLaren's official Twitter account, Brown gifts the 31-year-old driver a miniature model version of Earnhardt's Wrangler Chevrolet. He is then told by his new boss that he can drive the real thing - when he scores a podium for McLaren.
