Ricciardo not yet one with McLaren

Although Daniel Ricciardo finished the Saturday morning session atop the timing sheet, the Australian is looking to Sunday's afternoon session as a real indicator of where he stands.

Daniel Ricciardo has so far looked at home with McLaren during the first two days of winter testing in Bahrain, but the Australian believes there is more to come as he hasn't hit the limit of his capabilities just yet. The McLaren man finished the Saturday morning session with the fastest time, adding to the solid work put in on Friday. Ricciardo believes he's getting close to feeling at one with the car, but he expects Sunday's afternoon session to give him a real understanding of where he is at with his new team. "You never want to admit that you aren't driving to the limit," he told RacingNews365.com and other members of the media. "However the reality is that it takes a bit of time to execute at 100 percent. I think I'm certainly getting close, but am I truly one with the car? Not yet. "I expect a fair bit out of myself tomorrow in the evening session and I expect to start getting close to that. From a race weekend, and dialing into strategic stuff with the team and going through a race simulation, I'm pretty comfortable within myself and the car. "Naturally it takes a bit of time but I don't really want to give myself the time."
