Daniel Ricciardo believes McLaren's form during Friday practice is encouraging, even though he admits he didn't put together an "awesome" lap just yet. The Woking outfit looked solid throughout the day with both drivers finishing in the top 10 in both sessions. While Lando Norris managed the second fastest time in the second practice session, Ricciardo had to settle for sixth, prompting him to state he wasn't completely satisfied with how things went. "We did what we had to," Ricciardo told RacingNews365.com and others. "There's still still some things to perfect. Did I think I put in awesome laps today? Not yet awesome, not yet awesome. But in saying that I don't think today is a good kind of benchmark. It is nice to get everyone on track in the same conditions, though so we can see where we stand. "So I think the encouraging thing is that we're second and six and I think still both relatively unhappy, not to be too pessimistic. I don't think we're saying that we're 100 percent into the car and comfortable and it's doing everything we want. "I think we still got some work to do, but knowing that we're still at the pointy end, I guess that's encouraging."
