The many name changes of Red Bull's sister team will continue into next season.
For 14 years, the Italian-based squad was known as Toro Rosso before a switch to AlphaTauri ahead of the 2020 season to promote the team's fashion label.
Then, ahead of this campaign and with the attraction of two big-name sponsors, the team took on the convoluted moniker of Visa Cash App RB, or VCARB for short. On RacingNews365 we have simply referred to them as RB.
For 2025, however, and according to reports on Formula.hu, the team will revert to simply being known as Racing Bulls. This will reflect the company name it took on since transitioning from AlphaTauri.
The new name is, quite obviously, not only a lot easier to pronounce but also gives the team more of an identity.
When it was announced in early 2024 that the team would be called VCARB, there was a lot of criticism from F1 fans as it was felt it was not an appropriate fit. It seems the team has listened to its fans.
It is understood the agreements with Visa and Cash App will remain unaffected, although it is understood the logos on the car will not be as prominent next season. Instead, the likelihood is the primary bull logo will increase in size.
As to the team's driver line-up, that remains open. Yuki Tsunoda has been confirmed for 2025, although he may yet replace Sergio Perez at Red Bull for next season, leaving both Racing Bulls seats up for grabs.
If Tsunoda remains in situ, the second seat is up for grabs, with Liam Lawson, Franco Colapinto, and Isack Hadjar in the frame.
