Red Bull has been warned by former F1 driver Martin Brundle over a double blow impact of losing Max Verstappen to rivals Mercedes.
Verstappen has long been linked with a switch to the Brackley-based squad, however the rumours gathered further pace this week following a report from Italian media that concrete negotiations were underway between the two parties.

2025 F1 British Grand Prix - Silverstone Free Practice 2 results
Lando Norris continued his strong start to the British Grand Prix weekend by comfortably topping Free Practice 2 at Silverstone.
The McLaren driver, who had finished second to Lewis Hamilton in FP1, posted a 1:25.816 which was good enough for top spot, ahead of Charles Leclerc and Hamilton in third, enjoying his best Friday of the season.

Lando Norris cautions McLaren over surprise British GP rival
Lando Norris has cautioned McLaren that it must keep its eyes on surprise British Grand Prix contender, Ferrari.
Although Norris was second and first in the two Friday Silverstone sessions, he was bested by Lewis Hamilton in FP1 and then beat Hamilton's team-mate Charles Leclerc in FP2.

Alpine sign former FIA figure to key F1 role
The Alpine F1 team has announced the signing of Steve Nielsen to the role of managing director.
Working under Briatore, he will oversee the day-to-day running of the team at Enstone, starting from 1st September, prior to the Italian Grand Prix.
