Red Bull has confirmed that its junior driver Isack Hadjar will replace Sergio Perez for first practice, ahead of this weekend's British Grand Prix. Hadjar last drove for Red Bull in the 2023 post-season young drivers' test, and is currently competing for Campos Racing in Formula 2. The French-Algerian driver has picked up two feature race wins this season in Melbourne and Imola, and most recently finished on the podium at the Red Bull Ring last weekend. Hadjar finds himself second in the drivers' championship, ahead of this weekend's F2 races on the F1 support bill at Silverstone. His FP1 appearance will mark Red Bull's first of two first practice sessions this year where they field a rookie driver, a regulation in F1.
