Yuki Tsunoda triggered a red flag with eight minutes remaining in second practice ahead of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver crashed at the final corner after clipping the inside of Turn 18, breaking his front-left and sending him into the barrier on the outside of the corner. Tsunoda immediately apologised over the radio; however, Red Bull face a large repair job due to significant damage to the front of his RB21. It marked the worst possible end to second practice for the Japanese driver, who has struggled to adjust to the car after being promoted from Racing Bulls. He found himself in sixth at the time of his accident, although seven-tenths adrift of Lando Norris at the top of the timesheets.
