RB has confirmed that Red Bull junior Ayumu Iwasa will complete his second FP1 session of the 2024 F1 season at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The Japanese driver got his first RB outing earlier in the year, at Suzuka in front of adorning home fans. Now, he will replace compatriot Yuki Tsunoda for the Faenza-based team in the last first practice hour of the campaign.
Having replaced Daniel Ricciardo at the Japanese Grand Prix, Iwasa will now satisfy RB's second of two mandated young driver FP1 sessions for the year.
The 23-year-old finished fourth in F2 last season, behind Theo Pourchaire, Frederik Vesti and Alpine-bound Jack Doohan.
He raced in Japanese series Super Formula during 2024, where he finished fifth in the standings.
