Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has revealed the team is still pushing to fix a key issue that is of concern to Max Verstappen.
McLaren's Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri won the opening two rounds of the season before Verstappen struck back last time out in Japan with a pole and race victory.
Verstappen is trailing Norris by a single point in the drivers' championship as he aims for his third consecutive win in Bahrain this weekend.
While the RB21 has been fast in the hands of Verstappen on occasion across the first three events, Marko highlighted an area in particular the Dutchman is resenting.
“The car still needs more balance and still understeers too much right in the middle of the corner, which Max doesn't like at all,” Marko told Kleine Zeitung.
“If we can get that right, he'll be able to do completely different things.
“That's exactly what we're working on. We can't say when or how that will happen yet.”
While Verstappen has held the upper hand in the head-to-head fight at Red Bull this year, Norris and Piastri have been much closer matched at McLaren.
As a close title fight is predicted, Red Bull is looking to take advantage of Norris and Piastri battling for supremacy at the front of the field.
“We're happy when they take points away from each other,” Marko stated.
“I do think Piastri is mentally stronger, even if Norris is one lap faster.”
