The FIA has explained why it took a particularly dim view of what it considered to be a safety breach by a Red Bull team member that centred around the grid spot of Lando Norris at the United States Grand Prix.
Red Bull was fined €50,000, €25,000 of which is suspended for the remainder of this season, following a post-race investigation by the stewards at the Circuit of the Americas.

Andrea Stella has admitted McLaren "did not consider" starting Lando Norris on the soft tyres at the United States Grand Prix.
Like the vast majority of the top 10, the British driver had a set of medium-compound Pirellis strapped to his car for the first stint at the Circuit of the Americas, where he lined up second, between polesitter Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc in third.

Lewis Hamilton will be replaced by Le Mans 24 Hours winner Antonio Fuoco in Free Practice 1 for this weekend's Mexico City Grand Prix.
Fuoco won the 2024 Le Mans race for the works Ferrari team, and has been on occasional tester for the F1 team, last driving in the 2024 young driver test after the Abu Dhabi season-finale.
