Red Bull bring out the first red flag of F1 testing

Red Bull have become the first team to bring out the red flag during F1's pre-season test in Barcelona, with an issue hitting their RB18 on the second morning.

Red Bull's Sergio Perez has become the first on-track stoppage of F1's pre-season test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. After a noteworthy day of reliability from all the teams on Wednesday, aside from a brief pit lane stoppage for McLaren's Lando Norris, it took until 35 minutes before the lunch break on Thursday for the first red flag of the test to be shown. Perez came to a halt in the final sector as he was circulating on his 39th lap of the day. Red Bull have confirmed to RacingNews365.com that a gearbox issue was the cause of the stoppage. Perez was seventh in the times at the point of his stoppage, 1.9 seconds away from the fastest lap set by Ferrari's Carlos Sainz.
