F1 owner Liberty Media will soon own the pinnacle of both two-wheeled and four-wheeled motorsport, following a successful takeover of MotoGP.
Liberty Media has purchased 86% of the two-wheeled category's parent company Dorna, who are based in the Spanish capital.
The deal is worth €4.2 billion and is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
Liberty Media has owned F1 since 2016 and has grown the championship dramatically in North America, partly through the success of Netflix docu-series 'Drive to Survive'.
MotoGP is not in anywhere near as good a position and will require significant work by Liberty Media.
