Mercedes has officially confirmed Andrea Kimi Antonelli will race in F1 next year with the team, replacing seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.
The 18-year-old is the third rookie to be confirmed on next year's grid after Oliver Bearman and Jack Doohan were signed to Haas and Alpine respectively.
Antonelli has spiralled up the racing ladder en route to F1 and is set to be the third youngest driver in history when he makes his debut in Australia next March.
But is Antonelli the right option for Mercedes to replace Antonelli, or should the team have signed a driver with more experience to partner George Russell?
