Mercedes is currently searching for a new Formula 1 driver to pair alongside George Russell for 2025 as Lewis Hamilton departs for Ferrari. Front-running contenders are Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso, however another possibility for the German manufacturer is the option of its junior driver. Kimi Antonelli is viewed as one of the hottest prospects for some time and is currently making himself comfortable in Formula 2 after making the leap from the Formula Regional European Championship. The Italian is considered to be an option for Mercedes in 2025, despite the fact he will only turn 18 years of age in August.
