Oscar Piastri is set to be investigated by F1 stewards for an incident that took place before the race even started. On the reconnaissance laps to the grid, Piastri swept around the outside of Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes, cutting ahead of the Briton. Hamilton flagged this immediately to his Mercedes team with the stewards confirming that the incident had been noted and then indicated that Piastri would be investigated after the race, where he starts fourth and his McLaren team can win the constructors' if it out-scores Ferrari by 15 points. Hamilton starts sixth.
