Oscar Piastri and Daniel Ricciardo both crashed at Turn 3 to trigger an early red flag in second practice for the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. Piastri was the first to lose control of his McLaren at the heavily banked Turn 3, spinning into the barrier and sustaining heavy damage on both ends of his MCL60. Ricciardo then locked up when forced into taking avoiding action, damaging the front of his AlphaTauri and leaving him out of the session. Both drivers were able to climb from their cars, though neither car was able to return to the pits. The red flags were flown for the clean-up operation, with action getting back underway after just over 10 minutes. Piastri had finished FP1 in eighth place with Ricciardo down in 13th for AlphaTauri.
