Sergio Perez suffered a first lap retirement in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, in what could be his final race as a Red Bull driver.

The Mexican driver span at Turn 7, following contact with Stake F1's Valtteri Bottas. The incident was noted by the stewards, bringing Perez's miserable season to the end.

His future has been a significant talking point in the Yas Marina Circuit paddock, with his retirement confirming that Red Bull will finish third in the F1 constructors' title.

Perez has been insistent that he will remain with the Milton Keynes-based team next season.

However, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has revealed that a meeting will take place after this weekend with shareholders to make a final decision on the 34-year-old's future.
