Sergio Perez expressed his shock at the scale of a Singapore Grand Prix, which he labelled as a "total disaster" for Red Bull.
After qualifying in 13th, Perez made a strong start at Marina Bay, and climbed to 10th, but got stuck behind Franco Colapinto's Williams in ninth, and then joining the back of a DRS train led by Fernando Alonso and Charles Leclerc in pursuit of sixth-placed Nico Hulkenberg.
With the undercut powerful, Perez ultimately would go onto finish in 10th, meaning he has scored just 41 points in the 12 races since Miami as Red Bull lost further ground to McLaren in the constructors', who hauled 40 points to Red Bull's 19, as Max Verstappen finished second.
Perez felt his race was undone by getting stuck behind other cars, and it became a "nightmare."
"We had a pretty good lap one, but unfortunately, we didn't capitalise on it and Carlos undercut us," he told media including RacingNews365.
"Given how difficult it was to overtake today, we really needed to be a little further ahead and it was really difficult being behind Nico - it was a total disaster to be behind for the entire race. It was quite painful.
"It was really unfortunate, after passing three cars at the start, it then became a tricky race.
"It was frustrating and I think we missed out a bit on the strategy side. I struggled quite a lot with the car bouncing and the balance, it was just not settling down, I had a real issue with it.
"It is a shame that we qualified so far out of position and we know what things we did wrong - so we've got to come back in Austin, because the pace should be much better at a standard circuit."
