Perez sets goal for second half of season

The Mexican's second place in the Drivers' Championship is currently under threat from Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton.

Sergio Perez has highlighted his main goals for the second half of the season with Red Bull as he looks to improve his form compared to Max Verstappen. The Mexican is currently 125 points away from Verstappen in the Drivers' Championship, with his second place under threat from Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton. Red Bull has yet to secure a one-two at the end of a season, with Perez coming close in 2022 before Charles Leclerc outscored him at the final round in Abu Dhabi last year. Perez expects it to be a tougher challenge for the team heading into the final 10 races of the season, as they look to continue their win streak.

Perez: The field is getting tighter

"I’ve had a great summer break, between being back in Mexico with my family and training hard," said Perez. "I’ve been in the Factory with my engineers this week, it’s always good to catch up after the break and we’ve done some very good preparation for the weekend and we’re fully ready for it. "I want to pick up where I left off in Spa and be consistently on the podium and challenging for the remainder of the season. "Zandvoort will be a tricky race, the field is getting tighter, but we just keep pushing and pushing as a Team and will try to give our very best and deliver a good result no matter what the weather does."
