Perez gaining confidence: Things are coming together

The Red Bull driver has confirmed that he is getting more comfortable with the car ahead of this weekend's Styrian GP.

Sergio Perez believes he is continuing to improve his understanding of Red Bull's 2021 machine as he looks for a hat-trick of podiums following his win in Azerbaijan and his third place at Paul Ricard. Perez has been very open about his rollercoaster ride with the RB16B but feels that he is a good place to pursue with the approach he has taken that has paid paid dividends this month. "On my side I am still making progress and things are coming together but everything is going in the right direction," Perez told the press. "As a team we worked really well together in France. We made the strategy work and now we just need to keep it up. "It’s time to look ahead and it’s still very early in the season so we need to keep working hard and treat every race as if it’s the last. "The motivation from everybody is super high, and we’ll take this momentum forward to maximise our potential in the coming race." Two races at the same track is set to enhance Perez's learning curve and he is looking to make the most of Red Bull's current form, hoping to help extend the team's advantage over Mercedes in the Constructors' Championship which is 37 points. "I’m looking forward to racing for Red Bull at its home Grand Prix and we have two weekends now at the same track which I think will help me a lot in terms of progress and getting more experience in the car," said Perez. "The team has done well here in the past so hopefully that form continues and we can get some good results."
