Sergio Perez has ended speculation around Red Bull's second Formula 1 seat for 2025 by signing a new contract with the team.

With strong candidates such as Carlos Sainz and Yuki Tsunoda circling, Perez's long-term future at the Milton Keynes-based squad had been in doubt, with his contract set to expire at the end of the 2024 season.

Newey to Ferrari: 'He would jump on that opportunity in a heartbeat'

The opportunity for Adrian Newey to build road cars with Ferrari is the key factor that could result in the Scuderia signing the design genius, according to a former F1 star.

It was announced last month that Newey is to leave Red Bull early next year after what will be 19 years' service. At present, the 65-year-old has overseen the team winning seven drivers' titles and six constructors' championships.

F1 fans divided over who should replace Ocon at Alpine

Jack Doohan and Mick Schumacher have emerged as favourites to replace Esteban Ocon at Alpine, according to the latest RacingNews365 poll.

It was announced on Monday that Ocon would be leaving the Enstone team at the end of 2024 after five seasons, in which he picked up a maiden grand prix victory in the '21 Hungarian GP.

Hamilton quashes Ferrari theory ahead of 2025 F1 move

Lewis Hamilton insists that the fact he does not know many Ferrari personnel will not make "a big difference" ahead of his 2025 Maranello switch.

Hamilton will depart Mercedes at the end of 2024 after an illustrious 12-year spell which currently boasts 82 grand prix wins and six world championships, both all-time F1 records for a driver at a single team.

Russell finding ways to deal with F1's 'emotional hangovers'

George Russell has outlined the benefits of seeking help from a psychologist, to help the Mercedes driver deal with the "emotional hangovers" the drivers are subjected to in F1. 

Racing in F1 is arguably just as mentally challenging as it is physically, perhaps even more so. Drivers deal with mental obstacles on and off the circuit, a key one for many currently being the chaotic state of the driver market ahead of the 2025 F1 season.

Perez relishing Red Bull 'challenge' after fresh contract

Sergio Perez has labelled being part of Red Bull as an "immense challenge" that he "loves" after signing a fresh two-year deal with the team. 

Perez's contract was set to expire at the end of the 2024 season, but after negotiations with Christian Horner and Helmut Marko, he will be staying on for the '25 and '26 seasons.
