Pascal Wehrlein has identified a crucial area Porsche must improve to boost his chances of securing a second Formula E drivers' title.
The German had been leading the championship ahead of last month's double-header in Monaco, only for a disastrous weekend to see him drop to fourth in the standings.
The setback was caused by factors entirely outside Wehrlein's control. In the opening race, he was hit by team-mate Nico Müller while battling for strong points, before suffering a puncture in the second race.
As a result, the 31-year-old finds himself 27 points adrift of Jaguar's Mitch Evans with seven rounds remaining, the next of which takes place in Sanya in mid-June.
Monaco has been a peculiar venue for Porsche, which, despite often showing strong pace in the Principality, has never claimed a podium there. For Wehrlein, it was a significant blow.
Despite the disappointment of the most recent round, the Season 10 world champion remains firmly in the title fight but has recognised that Porsche must maximise every detail to ensure it does not lose more valuable points.
Asked what Porsche needs to work on, Wehrlein explained to RacingNews365: "It's about the details. It's small details, the margins are so small, small things or small decisions are making a big difference and having a big impact on how the weekend goes.
"In Berlin, we were clearly the quickest, almost got two pole positions that weekend, to a weekend [in Monaco], which was a bit more difficult on pace, but still good enough for good points or podium positions.
"That's how it is. You cannot be dominant from track to track, but I'd say clearly, in Monaco we under delivered."
If luck was on Wehrlein's side, he could very easily still be leading the championship. Nevertheless, he knows the fight is far from over and is eager to bounce back in Sanya.
"The frustrating part is that the last four races, there was quite a lot going on," added Wehrlein. "Still, we are not far behind in the championship, so everything is possible.
"I try to focus on the next race, focus on what I can do there [in Sanya], and that's it."
