Opel has unveiled the definitive race livery of its GSE 27FE ahead of its grand reveal at the Paris Motor Show, the car it will race in its first season of Formula E.
The design, created by Opel's global brand design team in Rüsselsheim, builds on the prototype livery the German manufacturer has run throughout its testing programme.
It uses three colour blocks in black, silver and yellow, a nod to Opel's historic motorsport liveries reworked for the electric era.
A new metallic silver stripe runs down the centre of the car, something the squad calls the visual "spine" of the GSE 27FE. Pixelated "Lightspeed Stripes" are also worked into the bodywork, a design language Opel first introduced on the Mokka GSE Rally car in 2025.
Opel global brand design manager Pierre-Olivier Garcia explained the thinking behind the look.
"With the final design of the Opel GSE 27FE, we show what Formula E looks like through Opel eyes," he said. "Airflow becomes linework, energy becomes colour and efficiency becomes precision. Our motorsport heritage provides the DNA, German design provides the structure, and Formula E takes it into the future."
Garcia added that the bright yellow accents, dubbed Opel GSE Yellow, carry particular significance. "In Formula E, energy decides the race, and for Opel, energy has a colour: GSE Yellow. It is bold without being aggressive and technical without being complicated. Yellow means go."

Mitch Evans offers Opel livery seal of approval
Mitch Evans, Formula E's most successful driver with 16 race wins, will spearhead the Opel GSE Formula E Team alongside Théo Pourchaire, with Sophia Flörsch retained as test and development driver.
The New Zealander is a big fan of Opel's livery and how the team has built upon its testing design.
"I think the final design looks fantastic. It builds on our concept and testing livery in a more refined way, while still feeling unmistakably Opel," he said.
"The additional silver gives it a sharp and sophisticated appearance, and, most importantly, it looks fast."
