Haas boss Ayao Komatsu has told Ollie Bearman it is "extremely important" to have a clean weekend at the Spanish Grand Prix.
After his Australian GP turned into a disaster with two practice crashes and then a gearbox failure in qualifying, Bearman rallied to score points in the first triple-header of the season, in China, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia.
However, since Jeddah, he has not scored points, although he retired with a mechanical failure in the race.
The Ferrari protégé is currently 16th in the drivers' championship, equal with Nico Hulkenberg on six points, but boss Komatsu is largely impressed by the performances Bearman is producing.
However, Komatsu has made it clear that he expects an error-free weekend to be stitched together by the Briton.
"How important is it? Yeah, it is extremely important," Komatsu told media, including RacingNews365, when asked how important a clean weekend would be for Bearman.
"It is what I said before the start of this triple-header: he just needs to have a consistent, clean weekend.
"He didn't have that in Miami, he had a crash, Imola was brilliant, and Monaco was perfect other than that one incident, but it is still not a clean weekend.
"It is very important that that is the focus, we have no doubts about his speed, his capability, so he just needs a clean weekend to produce.
"His talent, speed, racecraft and everything are proven.
"If you look at weekends where he had a clean run, he delivers, so we just need a clean weekend, and then there is no doubt the results will come."
