Ocon hit with hat-trick of penalties during Bahrain GP

It was not the ideal start to the season for Esteban Ocon, after getting hit with three penalties during Bahrain Grand Prix.

Esteban Ocon has been hit with a hat-trick penalties during the Bahrain Grand Prix. The Alpine driver failed to stop in his grid slot properly at the start of the race, which prompted a five-second time penalty. When he came in to serve it the team also elected to change his front wing, but worked on the car too early which earned him another 10 second time penalty. Things went from bad to worse when the Frenchman came in to serve his 10-second penalty, only to be copped with a speeding penalty in the pits. He vented his frustration over team radio: "In testing and in practice I've been doing these things in Formula 1, why a penalty now?" The list of penalties below: Out of position on the starting grid: 5 seconds Not taking penalty during pitstop: 10 seconds Speeding in the pit lane: 5 seconds The last time a driver was penalised three times during a race was Pastor Maldonado, who received three during the 2015 Hungarian Grand Prix.
