Long-time Red Bull mechanic Calum Nicholas has confirmed he has taken on a new position within the team.

Nicholas, who has worked in the Red Bull garage for 10 years, is now a Red Bull ambassador and will no longer carry out mechanic duties at the squad.

Nicholas has amassed a small following in the last handful of years and currently has almost 350,000 followers on Instagram.

The Briton is also publishing his own book, detailing life as a mechanic in the F1 paddock.

Nicholas took to social media ahead of the new F1 season to announce his role change.

“To all of those who’ve been a part of this amazing journey, thank you,” he said.

“For the last decade of my life l've been very fortunate to work with an incredible group of people, in a team like no other.

“So, today, l'm very pleased to announce that I'll be taking on an exciting new role, as a Red Bull Racing ambassador!”
