Lando Norris has flirted with the possibility of linking up with a rival F1 team in the future.
Norris joined the F1 grid in 2019 with McLaren and has since become a four-time race winner with the team, finishing runner-up in the F1 standings last year.
The 25-year-old is setting his sights on taking his maiden F1 title this year with the Woking-based squad ahead of what is predicted to be a highly competitive campaign.
In the build-up to the 2025 season, Norris appeared on NBC News where he shared his thoughts ahead of the new term.
Norris was then asked a bold question - which team would he like to join if McLaren decided it would depart the F1 grid?
“I can't answer that one!” was the Briton's immediate response, before offering up a true reply.
“I know exactly which one I would love to go to,” he stated. “It's the team that everyone wants to be part of at some point in their career.”
The team Norris is likely referring to is Ferrari, who boasts the longest and most successful history in F1.
Its ambiance has attracted Lewis Hamilton this year with the seven-time champion making the move to the Italian squad following 12 seasons at Mercedes.
Despite the appeal, Norris asserted he is extremely happy about his place within the McLaren organisation.
“But I'm very happy with McLaren,” he said. “They brought me into F1, I've spent my whole life here, pretty much.”
“I want to be here for many more years. I'm excited to stay in papaya and keep fighting.”
