Sauber Motorsport has confirmed that its new team name for the 2024 Formula 1 season will be Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber.

The name change comes following Alfa Romeo’s departure from the team after several years in partnership with Sauber.

Alfa Romeo originally linked up with Sauber in 2018 as a title sponsor before taking over naming rights for the 2019 season.

However, its departure announcement came soon after Sauber announced an agreement with Audi last year, who will take a majority share in the team ahead of the 2026 season.

Stake is an online casino company that entered into a multi-year partnership with Sauber at the start of the year.

New chassis name

Sauber has also announced that streaming platform KICK has secured naming rights for its chassis starting from next season.

KICK was founded in 2022 as a new streaming platform for creators and entered into an agreement with Sauber this year.

Its logos featured prominently on the C43 car at selected events during the campaign, a year in which the squad finished ninth in the Constructors’ Championship.

The partnership will be taken to a further level in 2024 as KICK has acquired naming rights to next year’s challenger, which will be known as the KICK Sauber C44.

“Sauber has always been about innovation, breaking the mould and defying convention,” said Team Representative Alessandro Alunni Bravi.

“The partnership with Kick.com is the latest and boldest display of the philosophy that drives us. Kick.com is redefining the way live streaming is done and they will adopt the same disruptive approach in the world of Formula 1.

“With Kick.com, our goal is to make the next step in finding new and innovative ways to get closer to our fans.”
