The reigning Formula 1 World Champions have elected to change several power unit components on Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez's cars ahead of the Spanish GP weekend. Ahead of the seventh race of the 22-Grand Prix season, Red Bull have elected to change exactly the same components on both RB19 cars. Verstappen and Perez's cars will be given new Internal Combustions Engines (ICE), Turbochargers (TC), Motor Generator Unit - Heat (MGU-H) and Motor Generator Unit - Kinetic (MGU-K). Teams are permitted to use four of each of these elements across a season, with both Red Bull drivers moving onto their second of each element for the Spanish Grand Prix. As a result, there are no penalties for the switches. Elsewhere, McLaren's Lando Norris has also taken new ICE, TC, MGU-H and MGU-K, but these will be the third of each element for the Briton, who will now have increased concerns about grid penalties later on in the season. Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso has moved onto his second Energy Store (ES) and Control Electronics (CE) for the season, as has Williams' Logan Sargeant. Haas driver Nico Hulkenberg has taken a new CE ahead of the Barcelona race, whilst the second McLaren of Oscar Piastri has moved onto his fourth exhaust of the season.
