Pirelli have confirmed the tyre allocations for the opening three races of the year, with the only new grade of tyre appearing at the opening event of the season. For the new season, Pirelli have introduced a sixth tyre compound to the range, with a new allocation of C0 being added to the range. The 2022 tyre range spanned from C1 to C5. Last season's hardest tyre, the C1, has been moved to the C0 allocation, and a new tyre has been created for the C1 grade. However, C0 will not be used in the first three races of the year. The new C1 tyre will be used at the season-opening race in Bahrain, alongside the C2 and C3. The tyre allocations will go softer for the next two events, with the C2, C3 and C4 tyres being used at the Saudi Arabian and Australian Grands Prix.
