Mercedes share another teaser photo ahead of 2022 car launch

Mercedes have posted a fresh teaser image for fans as they build up to the launch of their 2022 F1 car later this month.

Mercedes have shared another teaser photo ahead of their 2022 car launch. Following on from similar shots, the team took to social media on Friday evening to show a new angle of an apparent concept car, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect when the covers are taken off the W13 on 18 February. As per previous images, the car is shrouded in a haze, with no livery or decals visible, apart from the Mercedes star. It comes shortly after new signing George Russell hinted at a change of colour scheme for the upcoming season following a visit to the Mercedes factory this week, where he saw the 2022 livery on a show car. Mercedes switched from a silver to black livery in 2020, as a visual representation of their support for Lewis Hamilton's endorsement of the 'Black Lives Matter' movement. The livery was then kept on for 2021, before the rumours of a return gathered pace. Hamilton is set to partner Russell this year, though has maintained radio silence since the controversial ending to the 2021 season in Abu Dhabi.
