Mercedes have taken the next step in preparing Mick Schumacher for reserve driver duties by carrying out his seat fit.

It was confirmed in December that Schumacher would join the Silver Arrows in his new role for 2023 after being replaced at Haas by Nico Hulkenberg.

As part of his position, Schumacher will undertake simulator duties, marketing duties and be present at all Grand Prix events in 2023.

Should Lewis Hamilton or George Russell be forced to miss a race, Schumacher is now prepared for the possibility of stepping in following his seat fit at the Mercedes factory.

The squad shared images of the German's visit to their headquarters this week, with Schumacher seen smiling during the seat fit process.
